Omega Modular Dielectric Impedance Analyzer

Omega is a Dielectric Impedance Analyzer for measuring from dielectric impedance down to conductivity measurements. It can be integrated with various interface options to provide highest accuracy and very wide impedance and frequency range.

Broad Impedance and Frequency ranges

This cutting-edge Analyzer offers exceptional capabilities for measuring dielectric properties, electrochemical behavior, impedance and conductivity across various frequencies. Omega represents our most advanced and versatile instrument. It is designed with modularity in mind, centered around the Omega Main unit which can be seamlessly paired with one specialized test interface, each optimized for specific functionality. Notably, our impedance measurement interfaces provide outstanding general-purpose performance, ensuring the utmost accuracy and an incredibly wide range of impedance and frequency measurements.

Omega impressively spans an 18-order magnitude impedance range(1 mΩ ~ 500 TΩ), covers a 14-order magnitude frequency range(1 µHz ~ 100 MHz), and maintains a basic phase accuracy of 0.001°. This enables Omega to do measurement of permittivity, conductivity, and impedance across a vast array of materials or components, even those with unique characteristics, without the need to alter sample geometry/cell.

Omega can be integrated with our Temperature control systems for an automatic precisely temperature controlled measurements over a broad temperature range. It stands out as a user-friendly and unique instrument, delivering overall exceptional performance. It adeptly caters to a wide range of specialized requirements.

Omega can be currently integrated with:

– HZx Interface: Which allows for 2, 3 or 4 wire measurements, or with the HZa which is a Sample cell integrated Interface. HZx or HZa can support measurements with applied DC Bias of ±40Vdc.

– HV500 Interface: Which allows for 2 wire measurements and support measurements with a combined output Signal of applied DC Bias and AC signal up to ±250V.

– HV1000 Interface: Which allows for 2 wire measurements and support measurements with a combined output Signal of applied DC Bias and AC signal up to ±500V.

Omega Modular Dielectric Impedance Analyzer

HV2000 and HV5000 are in the final stages of development. Other interfaces will be developed as well.

Omega can be controlled via a PC-based measurement control (Eymea), has many connection options through GPIB, High Speed USB, Ethernet or RS-485 and has Interfaces Instructions and libraries for full instrument control from Java, C etc.

HV500 High Voltage Dielectric Impedance Test Interface

The Image on the right shows the amplifer response to a maximum output amplititude of 175 Vrms ~ 500 Vac without a connected sample. It is safe to assume (tested) that with a high Impedance sample the response will be practically identical.

The only other factor to keep in mind is the limitation of 30 mA maximum output signal current which would equate to an overall smaller output signal by short or 100 Ω sample or a real power output by a sample with 1.3 kΩ total impedance which would burn the sample under test and needs to be always checked and observed.

HV1000 High Voltage Dielectric Impedance Test Interface

The Image on the right shows the amplifer response to a maximum output amplititude of 353.3 Vrms ~ 1000 Vac without a connected sample. It is safe to assume (tested) that with a high Impedance sample the response will be practically identical.

The only other factor to keep in mind is the limitation of 10 mA maximum output signal current which would equate to an overall smaller output signal by short or 100 Ω sample and with an amplitude of 1000 Vac it would pose a real safety hazard when not handled properly.
